Despite the energy, economic and demographic crisis, the construction industry continues to hold a high position in our country's economy. A large part of the savings of people in Blagoevgrad region are invested in some form of construction.

Council members shared their experiences with construction waste disposal and the difficulties they encounter. According to statistical data, there are only 12 municipal landfills for construction waste and 27 regional landfills in our country, and only the regional landfills operate according to the regulations set out in Regulation No 8/24.08.2014. In this regard, companies in the construction industry are facing increasing difficulties to comply with the provisions of the European Union and Bulgarian legislation.

The council members are seeking assistance from the project management team to meet with the local authorities to report their concerns and propose solutions that they believe, with joint efforts, can alleviate the situation of the developers and not put the environment at risk.
