Strategies for cooperation with Bulgarian enterprises at Kavala Expo

On 1 October 2023, a meeting of the Waste Management Sector Business Council was held at the Kavala Expo to explore opportunities to create linkages and synergies with Bulgarian businesses. The main objective of the event was to discuss joint strategies to address common difficulties and promote growth in the recycling industry. The meeting was attended by 6 people onsite and 3 online.  

The main focus of the discussions was the establishment of links with Bulgarian enterprises. Participants stressed the importance of building contacts and partnerships with Bulgarian businesses in order to exploit synergies and promote cooperation. Potential areas for collaboration were explored, including joint ventures, knowledge sharing and market expansion initiatives.

The meeting also touched on the topic of dealing with common difficulties. The concept of joint problem solving was discussed, whereby companies from Greece and Bulgaria can work together to identify and overcome common challenges in the recycling industry. Participants exchanged views on common problems such as regulatory compliance, resource scarcity and technological constraints, and generated ideas for joint solutions to overcome them.

Discussions also focused on promoting growth through cooperation. The potential benefits of cooperation between Greek and Bulgarian enterprises to stimulate growth and innovation in the recycling sector were highlighted. Participants highlighted opportunities to share expertise, access new markets and improve operational efficiency through joint efforts.

Organized by the association "Development of culture tourism environment" - DE. CU.T.E. under the project "Business Council - BC 6275", funded by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 program (grant agreement №B6.3a.18/13.04.2021), the meeting ended with a commitment from the participants to explore opportunities for cooperation with Bulgarian enterprises and to work to address common difficulties in the recycling industry.
