Regular meeting of the Business Council in the Health Sector was held
On 12.11.2022 at 11:00 am in Plovdiv. Blagoevgrad of the Business Council in the Healthcare Sector in the border regions of Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Kardzhali and Smolyan, and the activity is carried out under the project "Business Council – BC 6275" funded by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 Program, Subsidy contract No B6.3a.18 / 13.04.2021.
The meeting was attended by a total of 7 representatives of the sector from the border districts of Haskovo, Kardzhali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan. For the meeting was engaged hall №2 located at ul. "Todor Alexandrov" №32 in the town of Blagoevgrad. The room was technically equipped with multimedia, laptop, printer, microphone(s) and sound system, as well as information boards, banner and presentation materials according to the requirements of the Communication and Publicity Manual of the Interreg V/A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020 Programme. In addition, disinfectants as well as water, coffee and tea were provided to secure the coffee break of the event.
The representatives of the sector who were present pointed to the limits on the activity of hospitals, the shortage of staff and insufficient funding as the main problems in health care. Mr. Bozhidar Vassilev stressed that the problems in healthcare are not only financial. Regarding the lack of staff, he pointed out that young specialists are looking not only for decent salaries, but also for an environment and opportunities for their families, which in many cases is lacking. In this sense, it is important for young professionals what conditions are offered to them, especially in small towns, and remuneration is only third among their priorities.
Participants in the business council unanimously expressed their opinion that they should focus their efforts on improving awareness and interaction with institutions to solve the problems of lack of staff.
