The first meeting of the representatives of the sector in Thessaloniki was held on 01.09.2023. 7 sector representatives were present. The meeting was organized by the association "Development of culture tourism environment" - DE. CU.T.E. under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" funded by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 Programme, Subsidy contract №B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.

The meeting started with a presentation of the Business Council's programme, outlining its objectives and scope. Members were briefed on the role of the Business Council in facilitating collaboration and innovation in the technology sector. A brief overview of the discussions and outcomes of the previous meetings held in Xanthi was provided. This served as a basis for understanding the context and priorities discussed in previous sessions.

Participants engaged in discussions to identify the specific needs and challenges facing tech companies and startups in Thessaloniki. Key areas of focus included access to funding, talent acquisition, infrastructure requirements, and regulatory considerations. The meeting explored potential avenues for networking and collaboration with other stakeholders within the broader area of interest. Emphasis was placed on leveraging existing networks, industry associations and government initiatives to promote synergy and knowledge sharing.
The inaugural meeting served as a platform to initiate dialogue and collaboration within the Thessaloniki technology sector. Participants gained insight into the BC agenda and identified priority areas for future discussion and action. Moving forward, the focus will be on addressing identified needs and fostering networking opportunities to support the growth and success of technology businesses in Thessaloniki.
