The moderator of the event welcomed all the participants and started the event by making a brief presentation of the Rules of Procedure of the BS in the Agro - Food Sector.
The focus of the free discussion was the new Strategic Plan for Agricultural and Rural Development 2023-2027, which will be of key importance for rural development in the coming years.
One of the main recommendations set out in the strategic plan is the promotion of various forms of cooperation between different farmers.
As noted by a member of the council present at the meeting, in the municipality of Kirkovo there is a growing interest in beekeeping. In view of the fact that most of the farms are small - with no more than 5-6 to 10 hives, the beekeepers in the area have long been talking about a cooperative - the need of the people is aimed at providing support and stimulation, and therefore increasing food security.
In this regard, it is necessary to establish rules of operation for the future association. On the suggestion of a council member, it was decided to seek the assistance of the municipality for the regulation and management of the cooperative.
