Exploring cross-border cooperation and funding opportunities
On 2 October 2023, a meeting of the Business Council in the Waste Management Sector was held within the Kavala Expo, dedicated to exploring the potential outcomes of cross-border cooperation between Greek and Bulgarian enterprises, as well as the opportunities to access European funding programmes to support joint initiatives. The Business Council meeting was organized by the association "Development of culture tourism environment" - DE. CU.T.E. under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" funded by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 Programme, Subsidy contract №B6.3a.18/13.04.2021. The event was attended by 6 people on-site and 2 online.
The main focus of the discussions was on the results of cross-border cooperation. Participants discussed the potential results and benefits of joint work between Greek and Bulgarian enterprises. They explored opportunities for knowledge exchange, market expansion and joint innovation projects that could result from cross-border cooperation.
The Business Council meeting also drew attention to European funding programmes, such as Interreg, available to businesses engaged in cross-border cooperation. Participants discussed the application process, eligibility criteria and potential funding opportunities offered by these programmes to support joint projects and initiatives between Greek and Bulgarian enterprises.
Discussions also focused on the opportunities for businesses that can be gained from participation in European funding programmes and cross-border cooperation initiatives. Participants exchanged views on the use of funding opportunities to support research and development projects, expand market presence and increase competitiveness both domestically and internationally.
