TRAINING AND INNOVATION IN THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR

On 12 October 2023, at the International Hellenic University of Thessaloniki, the first meeting of the Business Council of the Agri-Food Sector in the Region of Thessaloniki was held. The main objective was to engage students in the field of agriculture and promote knowledge exchange between academia and business. The event was streamed live on Zoom, allowing for wider participation and collaboration.

Highlights of the meeting:

- Introduction to the project - The project idea was presented, highlighting the importance of the relationship between universities and businesses to promote innovative solutions in the sector.

-Theagri-food sector structurein Greece - Participants were given an overview of market trends, key players and challenges to better understand the real business environment.

-Businessperspectives from professionals - Representatives of the agri-food sector shared their practical experiences, challenges and opportunities, giving students the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas.

- Bulgaria's experience in the agri-food sector - The discussion expanded with an analysis of the Bulgarian market, where participants looked at successful practices and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

The first meeting of the Council created a strong basis for future discussions and knowledge exchange. Students received valuable practical guidance while business experts had the opportunity to engage the future generation of professionals in the sector.

The event was organized by the association "Development of culture tourism environment" - DE. CU.T.E." under the project "Business Council - BC 6275", funded by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 Programme, Subsidy contract №B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.
